Answer - CU*@HOME has been configured
to work with both Microsoft Internet Explorer (ver. 4.0
and above) and Netscape (ver. 4.6 and above). We suggest
that if you are having a problem, to up-grade to a newer
version of either browser. You can download it here:
Internet
Explorer, Netscape
Question - If
I have Internet Explorer or Netscape, but I am still have
problems connecting to CU@HOME what could the problem be?
Answer - It is our desire to keep CU*@HOME
the most protected and reliable service available. Unfortunately,
there are sometimes incompatibilities between some browser
versions and the security features of CU*@HOME.
CU*@HOME has recently upgraded its security
features to keep up with the best possible protection, which
is currently the 128-bit encryption.
We recommend that you keep your browser
version current because new features are being made available
as time go on. In some cases the older browsers are not
capable of utilizing these new features.
According to Netscape they now state that
Netscape Communicator with 128-bit strong encryption is
now available worldwide. In addition to the U.S. and Canada
4.73 version, Netscape Communicator 4.7 with strong encryption
is available now in a number of different languages.
Note: Some problems have also occurred
when using some of the older versions of AOL and Internet
Explorer. We suggest that you empty your "History"
and "Temporary Internet Files". You should find
this located under TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS. This will give
your browser a fresh start.
Question
- How can I tell if I have the 40 or the 128 bit encryption
version?
Answer -
In Navigator or Communicator, go to the
Help menu and select About Navigator (or Communicator).
Look for the section that reads "Contains
encryption software from RSA Data Security, Inc".
If the next paragraph says "This
version supports U.S. security", that means you have
128-bit security. If it says you have International security,
that means you have 40-bit security
